What did you do?
I built a line of Electromagnetic Plants to craft blue chips, intending to pass sulfuric acid (SA) through them. Due to my mistake, some of the plants ended up rotated/mirrored so that their in/out pipes were not connected to their neighbors. (I don't recall the precise order of building and/or rotating and mirroring the plants. It's possible that at one point, all the pipes were connected, and I mirrored and disconnected the plants only after they got some SA in their internal buffer.)
What happened?
Even the disconnected Electromagnetic Plants continued to produce blue chips, and their internal SA buffers kept getting refilled "out of nowhere". This is the case of the two EmPs above and below the beacon on the attached screenshot. Their SA buffers keep refilling to 400 and they keep producing blue chips.
After some time, the amounts of SA eventually started dropping, and the plants ran dry (ending up with 3.6 SA in the buffer for the top one, and 1.6 for the bottom one) and stopped producing. For a couple of minutes, it seemed as if there was some invisible tank feeding them.
I don't know how long it had been going on, but after I made the attached save, the top EmP kept refilling for around 1 minutes 15 seconds, and the bottom one for around 3 minutes.
What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
I expected the plants to run out of SA, with the amount inside decreasing normally after each production cycle (or maybe to never even get it in the first place, depending on the order of my building/rotatin/mirroring actions). I did not expect to see the amount in their buffer increase back to 400 after each (real, non-bonus) production cycle.
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
Happens every time I reload the attached save: The plants above and below the beacon keep producing blue chips, and only stop refilling to 400 SA after around 1m15s for the top plant, and around 3m for the bottom one.
