was looking through some stars in the galaxy of fame and found this guy

he somehow produced more legendary items than all the other rarities (besides normal ones) for example copper plates:
is that the some bug in how items are being tracked or how did he do it?

At a guess, they're using asteroid chunk reprocessing.

You can generate huge amout of legendary copper plate without the earlier quality level if you create some low density structure from foundries with legendary plastic and then recycle them.
This done once you have the 300% productivity bonus will in practice generate legendary copper and steel from a legendary plastic "catalyst" since you recover all the plastic in the process, and get some extra copper and steel for free.
( it was reported during beta testing at least by me but also by members of "team 13" who made the base linked and from what i remembr left like this because if you get to 300% productiity bonus you have played long enough it's not an exploit, it's a feature you unlock or something ).

I know for sure i messed up my circuitry and 9 legendary mech armor were built, and only 1 of the other quality instead of the desired 0, for some item it's easier than for others ^^
