Tank does not give vision when remote controlled
I have a tank with a roboport inside. Up intil recently it would give me vision if I remotely controlled it, but now I am flying blind. Also if a tank is outside of radar vision I cannot even get into it without having vision on it. I think either a RC vehicle with roboports should grant vision at all times, or there should be a menu to gain control of a vehicle and then gain vision while controlling it. The way it is currently, it is rather hard to use.

Hm. But i recall controlling it a week ago and having vision with just a roboport inside. What is the future plan for the behavior then? Because if i do not have vision of a RC vehicle there is not much point in remotely controlling a vehicle at all.

Tank is meant to be used only inside your radar coverage. You can use it outside but it has its limitations. I don't remember the portable roboport giving radar coverage. Spidertron, on the other hand, has built-in radar.

I think with the addition of remote control being a thing it really does not make sense anymore that tanks do not have built in vision. Especially for a tank that really does make them so useless, that tanks might as well not have any RC capability at all then if you cannot go and clear out nests, since you have no vision to even use the weapons

Why cannot ? You just need to back them up by radars.
(And it nice for radars to have more of a job, now that roboports have replaced them for base vision.)

while this is not a bug, I suggest either giving the tank a tiny vision around it, or make it selectable in the fog-of-war area similar to trains.
while on a different planet I was doing emergency tweaks to Nauvice because we ran out of crude oil. by my mistake I exited the tank while it was at the edge of my radar coverage, I could not go back to driving it. Imagine my frustration when our only logistic tank got soft locked, please do consider not everyone will unlock spidertron couble hours after they got a tank, some might even take days.
my note in radar: there is so many things that give vision now, I do not think its game breaking to just give the tank one. radar, roboports and the HUB all give vision (both roboports and the hub do not include a radar in their recipe). the tank is not mass produced so adding a radar to it recipe is not an issue either. spidertron will always be more superior to a tank later (remote control, automatic fire, semi-flying movement, etc.
Edit: or the portable roboport could give a radar coverage and it will be a balanced work around sense the tank will need to generate power using it grid.

Blueprint book of small radar stations I use for tank excursions. The two bigger ones are for Nauvis, the small one is for Vulcanus. You can't directly place buildings in the fog of war, but you can place blueprints that the tank will build. As long as it's not between dusk and dawn, the radar should power up and start providing vision.
