I usually just turn off the night, that gives side effect of always working solar panels. But if there would be an option of same good visibility at night using some gadget, it would be very nice!

The nightvision could use either an option to select other filters (1.1 style as an option please!) or something like you're suggesting with quality interaction.
The old nightvision made better use of contrast, preserving visibility and allowing lights to clarify color rather than getting washed out.
The new nightvision's yellow tint feels muddy and lights on top of it just make visibility worse.

The new night vision sucks. What is with the amber effect? Sorry to be blunt devs... but you missed the mark here.
Suggestions:
1. Include a setting for the old 1.x style night vision.
2. Create different tiers of the night vision. I think this could be really cool, and it can take a lot of inspiration from real life and the evolution of night vision technology. The first tier could be easy to build with maybe only military science but be poor quality leaving most players desiring more. The next tier could be similar to the 1.x style at the same cost point. Tier 3 could remove the green tint and make it only slightly different from day light while also reducing the size from a 2x2 to a 1x2 or 1x1.

Yeah, I can't handle it either. Makes me feel tired or even a bit sick, can't explain
