[2.0.20] Electromagnetic Plant outputting heavy oil through different output/input pipe

Post by goopi »

Hi, I have gotten very frustrated with this bug on Fulgora, not sure if anyone else has been having the same issue. I have read a few threads on this on reddit and thought I had found a fix using a pump before putting heavy oil in its specified spot, and I'm still getting the same issue. Whenever I would run out of Holmium solution, the heavy oil going into the electromagnetic plant on the opposite side, it would turn my holmium solution to heavy oil even though the pipes aren't connected anywhere besides through the electromagnetic plant. It has been 3 patches since I first found this bug, and I know I am not the only one, and this is holding up my electromagnetic science pack production, and I have had to constantly come back to Fulgora wasting resources to fix this so I can continue the game and research.

In the image attached, I have myself attempting to fix it with the pump, only to find out 45 minutes later that I wasn't making the electromagnetic science packs anymore because I wasn't making any holmium solution when the tank got converted to heavy oil. Can you guys please fix this, this is making me not want to continue my playthrough.

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for the report.

Indeed it's a known issue - see e.g. 117703 Thruster swapping Fuel and Oxidizer (mixing/fluid).

It happens most likely when you rotate the plant after connecting pipes. Then the oil gets everywhere from the plant's internal buffers.
After that happens, the easiest might be to deconstruct the plant, click on all connected pipes, Flush out incorrect fluid(s), then undo the deconstruction to get back the plant.
(The deconstruction forces the oil out into pipes, so it can actually be seen and disposed of. Other way of accomplishing it is to place one empty pipe next to all plant's connection points, as seen on my pictures.)
