The Rake
Inspired by a ship called "The Brick", for the aerodynamic profile. This one act as an interstellar rake, able to reach 300 km/s, while flying non stop from Nauvis to Aquilo, it does need to slow down to go past this, this is handled by an automatic speed control detecting such moment in case i send it over there by mistake, it can go past the solar system and is able to make its own repair packs from asteroids chunks, because that is helpful sometimes.

Made entirely of "normal" quality it does consume its 400 MW and the accumulators are actually necessary and no jokes or fillings.

It can fly with an efficiency of 100% on the thrusters but in such case and really almost always it will be forced to dump some carbon if flying around Aquilo or past there, because then it consume so few for fuel that sulfur for rockets risk being a shortage. Given the amount of space junk that can be processed by the rake though, it is a minor concern.

This version has 55 thrusters, weights 1595 tons for 5.6 GN , with a handle in the middle, for better grip, or attaching any module in the back.

The rake blueprint :

Disclaimer: make sure your bonuses match those in red boxes or i'm not responsible for broken rake. ( also more notes in following post sorry )

(Those didn't fit in previous post)

IMPORTANT :

Notes : There are 55 lasers and 19 railguns, and no solar pannel included, the fusion reactor has no fluoroketone when pasting the blueprint which doesn't fit the uncharted area by default. So one has to copy paste the blueprint twice, while shift clicking or using a legendary hub. Then add around 40 - 50 pannels on the handle/tail of the rake ( expand as needed temporarily ) , just to get enough power to unbarrel some fluoroketone and get some fusion cell in the reactor. And then the assembly that unbarrel the fluoroketone need to be removed and the blueprint finished. Some cargobays near the center can be removed for such initalization.

If not using a legendary hub, one has to connect the empty constant combinator, the hub, and the inserter under it with a red wire and tick all the boxes on the platform

It will still take forever for it to be ready outside editor but there is simple mechanism to dump asteroid chunk that would end up in the hub back onto the main belt for chunks, and it is recommended to use to help the ship get ready.

This is a version with some unused combinators near the pumps, but it's still there that the speed Limit ( signal L ) is to be set in the 2 constant combinators that have logistic group explaining their purpose. By default one is at 140 km/s or half speed , can be changed to 500 or 9000 or more with no risk, and the other speed is the safety speed , 40 km/s which the ship adopt when needed, it can be set higher for taking risks :)

This is possibly the worst thing I've built in this game, but I love it even more because of that.

I made it as an industrial scale Space Stuff Production Platform. At the moment, it's sitting above Fulgora, shipping down an absurd amount of ice to turn into water. Running around the outside is a giant belt. The inner side is dedicated to ammo for the turrets, and the outer side is a sushi belt of various asteroid chunks. I have combinators set up to read the amount of each individual chunk on the belts, and if one type goes over a specified amount, it gets removed from the collectors' filters. It also takes the chunk with the lowest number, and turns on the recycling recipes for the other two chunk types. The crushers are constantly running, but their outputs are only inserted into the hub when the stored ice/carbon/ore is below a certain number.

It's extremely ugly, even more inefficient, and barely functions. I do not care, it is my baby and I love it dearly. I should probably add another furnace or two though.

My giant space platform is here. As it's giant, it will be very expensive to build.
Note: I used a game speed changer mod to create this in my non-editor game.

Is it a moon? Is it a planet? It's a space platform! And you can build one yourself by copying the blueprint.
And even if you were right - it would be a colonized moon.

Hello to the party.

Here are my "starter ships." The first one is designed for white science from the beginning. It’s meant to be inexpensive from the start. In addition to handling basic science, it also supply Navius by excess iron ore.

Image

And the second one is for the initial expedition to your first planet. Again, it’s meant to be inexpensive and should support a few routes between Navius and your first planet. Physical damage 5 research is recommended first before your first route.

I named it Nostromo.

It is designed for ~75 % efficiency with the most simple circuit I could think of, and I decided to go for minimal width for maximum speed. It will start at 51% but will settle at ~75% after a couple of seconds.

Power on Nauvis is a problem I haven't solved yet. Probably just add a little more length to plop down some more solar panels. Or add higher qualities.

Just won space age using an environmentalist strategy, trying to use renewable resources and scale everything down instead of up.

Here is my compact solar edge ship with:
  • Fuel pump to slow down when there are too many asteroids
  • Railgun targeting big chunks to conserve explosives
  • One sushi belt for everything
  • On-demand crushers
  • Throttled nuclear power

I've just examined the image and it looks like this can be made before going to Gleba, if you've been to Vulcanus and Fulgora.
Am I right?

No, unfortunately. The dynamic recipes and the fuel part require advanced asteroid processing. Besides, the railguns in front need Aquilo.

My current inner-planets ship model, the Pathfinder. Rated out to Fulgora orbit. Blueprint book comes with 2 variants. One as-pictured with Uncommon solar panels and electric furnaces, and a mis-named "light" version with only Common equipment (and as such, more solar panels). Requires blue underground belts in a few places.

Designed before I learned about managing engine efficiency with pumps, and I haven't gotten around to retrofitting such. If allowed to fill its tanks while waiting in orbit, it sustains a healthy speed of 250km/s, and has enough propellant storage to make 2 full hops before the tanks run dry. Sustained speed with empty tanks is around 150km/s if I remember correctly. Once I'm ready to ship Gleba science, I intend to retrofit one of the ships with throttle control, allowing propellant to build up and only opening the throttle on the Gleba->Nauvis leg.

It has a single crusher allocated for asteroid reprocessing with a circuit controller. I'm not convinced that a single crusher accomplishes very much for that purpose, just providing a little extra help while waiting in orbit with lop-sided ratios. Not necessary for normal operation.

Ah. I thought that advanced asteroid processing required metallurgical science and that rail guns were unlocked on fulgora...

Speed is everything
157 tons, consistent 511.99km/s top speed
Produces >10 times more power than necessary ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Requires rounds import
Works for inner planets (cannot destroy large asteroids. yet...)

The Aquilonian Eagle
They said you can't have holes...
This has advanced asteroid processing and produces it's own ammo for gun & rocket turrets and is capable of ferrying to Aquilo. An ok signal indicates when sufficiently rearmed and refuelled to travel. Plenty of space for expansions. Produces steel plate for supplying Aquilo while in orbit. Runs on nukular power!

After routinely losing the front of my ship to medium asteroids between the inner planets, I stripped down to one engine, and added more bullet assemblers. I give you the anatomically_correct_lightbulb :D
