Description of Bug
The chain bolts from Tesla Turrets target biter spawners which get released from not being fed -- meaning tesla turrets break the implication given by the tooltip that these spawners will always be "Protected from automated shooting."Steps to reproduce
I have provided a save file with a captive biter spawner imminently about to starve, surrounded by Tesla turrets. The following steps are if you don't want to use that save file.Save File:
1. Create a Captive Biter Spawner, and place a tesla turret within range.
2. Wait for it to 'die' (starve)
3. Watch as the tesla will not *directly* target the spawner, but the arcs will.
Quick (Important) Note
In between all this weird behavior, I strongly believe one of these three *has* to be a sort of bug. I don't have telepathy and I don't know what the dev team thinks, but:- Spawners not getting hit by tesla arcs when the spawner is captive with indirect chain bolts vs. when it's 'free' and 'protected' suddenly getting hit by them.
- The tooltip would have to be wrong or misleading by omission, as "Protected from automated shooting" implies that anything that won't cause collateral damage (Tesla turrets do not damage the base in their effort of zapping things) is safe to use around these spawners.
- The actual behavior of the chain arcs targeting protected spawners is wrong, and they should be safe to use around these.
