Can I clear the scrap left behind by destroyed buildings?

Don't know how to use a machine? Looking for efficient setups? Stuck in a mission?

Can I clear the scrap left behind by destroyed buildings?

Post by Bobbymoe »

I just started a new Space Age base after not playing for two years and I decided to use grenades to clear out a portion of my base that was full of spaghetti to make room for a proper main bus. Does anyone know how to clear the scrap from the buildings I blew up, I know I can place something on top of it and pick it back up to clear it but that just defeats the purpose of using grenades in the first place.

I attached an image of what I mean, thanks!

"Blow it up" - interesting idea to deconstruct an unwanted factory. Usually, you just hold right-click to pick up built stuff back into your inventory. So early in the game it's a waste to destroy valuable factory components in my opinion.

However, the destroyed buildings will just disappear over time on their own, like biter corpses.

Good to know, all the stuff was T1, yellow belts, assembler 1, etc. Since I was already producing better stuff I didn't want it and didn't want to spend the time picking it all up individually, so kaboom

If you build something of the same size on place of scrap, it will be cleared.

How long does it take for destroyed buildings to disappear? I swear I have so many destroyed turrets lying around that have been there for hours..

Yes, I was wrong. Remnants used to go away in 1.1, but in 2.0 they're persistent as long as you don't build something directly over them.
