Turning legacy rails in new rails automatically

Hi everyone! I've been playing Factorio for a long time now, but I'm new to the forums, so this is my first post here.

Today, I noticed that some of my blueprints have legacy straight rails mixed with the new ones. Besides being visually annoying, this could eventually become a problem when legacy rails stop being supported. I tried using the Upgrade Planner to convert the legacy rails to the new ones, but I couldn’t find any option to specifically select legacy rails in the planner. I also searched online and in the forums to see if anyone had this problem, but didn’t find anything related.

Does anyone know a way to solve this, or will I have to replace the legacy rails with the new ones manually?

Unfortunately, Legacy rails do not convert 1:1 to the new rails. The new rails are a bit larger in the tightest turn radius.
You will have to replace the legacy rails manually.

I accidentally tried to migrate legacy rails to new rails in a mod JSON migration. It crashed when loading a save because the connection points were all wrong. So even straight rails have to be replaced manually (unless someone invents a mod to do it heuristically).

Yes, I already replaced the curved legacy rails with the new curved ones on the launch day of Space Age, but the straight legacy rails still behave the same as the new ones and can be used normally right now. This led me to not notice that there were some legacy straight rails left in my blueprints. Let’s hope some kind soul makes a mod to turn those straight rails into new straight ones.
