Is it possible to read a logic signal from a different surface somehow?

Like, having a function or an event that one can subscribe to reads signal from defined surface id.
Like a surface signal selector, where you have the surfaces, and select which one you read from, and that would output that surface logic, same that is output from a radar

In the context of a mod, surfaces aren't important. You can even create invisible script wires between surfaces directly linking two networks. There are mods that do this already, like Earendel's AAI Signal Transmission.

What specifically are you trying to do?
My mods: Multiple Unit Train Control, RGB Pipes, Shipping Containers, Rocket Log, Smart Artillery Wagons.
Maintainer of Auto Deconstruct, Cargo Ships, Vehicle Wagon, Honk, Shortwave.

I'm specifically trying to do a surface radar signal selector, that would just select any surface and share the radar logic network.
So one can select, a spaceship, or talk to another planet
