[2.0.13] Loading blueprint storage from cloud failed. Local version of the storage is being loaded instead.

Post by marvk4 »

What did you do?
Load a new or existing save without any third party mods.
What happened?
Since Space Age released, on the save load screen, i get the error message "Loading blueprint storage from cloud failed. Local version of the storage is being loaded instead.".

Pressing confirm still gets me into the game.
What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
No error should occur when loading into a game.
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
It happens with every save I tried, new or old.

I didn't report so far because there was this thread here, but so far nothing has been fixed for me.

When trying to download the blueprint-storage.dat.zstd from Steam Cloud, I get a 404 Not Found.

I have the exact same issue in 2.0.15, except I am able to download the blueprints storage from steam cloud (attached, I had to zip the .zstd file to be able to upload here). But whenever I load into a game I have the error message from the OP screenshot.

I have found a way to get rid of this error (I had NO blueprints before) :

- go to %appdata%\Factorio\ and deleted "blueprint-storage.dat"
- loaded my save and created one blueprint in the library
- saved and exited the game
- a file blueprint-storage-2.dat has been created in local and steam cloud folder.

I don't have the problem anymore.

From OP's log:

Code: Select all

Loading cloud blueprint storage failed: Map version 0.17.74-0 cannot be loaded because it is lower than the minimum input version
Factorio 2.0 (nor 1.1 for that matter) can't read 0.17 file format anymore, so that's why there is the error.

As N3cR0n0M1k0V suggested, solution is to put some blueprint (even empty one) into your blueprint library, the game will save new library and error won't appear anymore.

If you want to migrate 0.17 blueprint library, uinstall DLC (if you have it), set beta branch to 1.0.0, start the game, get into the game, add new blueprint to blueprint library, save the game and exit. Then disable the beta branch (and install back DLC if you have it)
