The ability to select an item from the hotbar, and either holding or pressing a button to switch to another item within the group. So for example:
- You have a blue inserter on the hotbar. By putting it in the cursor and pressing $hotkey$ switches over to a green inserter. Pressing it another time loops back around to yellow inserters.
- You hold a yellow belt in the cursor, by holding $hotkey$ a wheel/selection pops up and we can select all (unlocked) types of belt components: Red belts, yellow underground, blue splitters etc.
- Maybe to go above and beyond we can even create custom groupings?(though this might just fill the same niche as the 10 available hotbars)
This might make choosing the right tool for the job a bit quicker without having to switch between toolbars a lot.
I have been pointed towards Raiguard's Cursor enhancements mod to implement something like it but I really would like this to be in vanilla as well.
