game version: 2.0.15
chain of events:
- send my ship to vulcanus with a request for 500 calcite
- ship flies to volcanus and arrives
- volcanus bots load calcite into silo
- ship clears enough space to hold the calcite
- silo sends rocket up
- ship fills up again because its still processing asteroid chunks from the trip
- rocket arrives at my ship
- calcite spills out onto the floor of the ship
- calcite then gets deleted. not in ship hub, not in silo, not in landing pad....just gone
- ship flies back to nauvis empty handed
possible fix (if possible):
reserve inventory slots in the ship's hub until the rocket arrives
my opinions on the whole dropped items on ship system:
imo, items shouldnt get deleted from a ship unless an inserter throws it off the side.
automated space shipments deleting items if hub inventory fills up while rocket is being sent

Re: automated space shipments deleting items if hub inventory fills up while rocket is being sent
Oh, this might also explain my missing building materials from manual sends. Loaded 20 underground belts and 5 splitters, and later checking (after sending a bunch of other mixed loads) there where only 14 underground and no splitters. So annoying.

Items don't get deleted. They get dropped on the floor next to the hub if they don't fit.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
