Repair Packs Work on Space Platform

Last night I learned that repair packs work on space platforms. I had thought without construction bots or the ability to run around and use them, they weren't an option.

If I'd figured this out sooner, things would have been much easier. My first three space platforms were destroyed. Oops. Finally I noticed a logistics request for repair packs from my space platform that flew from Gleba to Nauvis, and I saw things heal. Amazing.

Most people probably figured this out right away. For whatever reason, it took me a while.

I also saw walls on space platforms. Do they help in case of asteroid impact?

I thought that asteroid just hit a platform tile that has some HP (50 per tile), and structures on it can be damaged, if the tile is damaged. Any more precise description?

I'm wondering about walls as well, they might help a bit, maybe? But as soon as you encounter big asteroids, those don't really care about health, they just tear a hole right trough your ship.
