Bioflux energy value

I noticed that my bioflux has an energy value associated with it, so I thought that, in order to keep everything running smoothly, I would simply burn excess bioflux away. However, I noticed that it does not burn when my junk belt jammed. What does this energy value refer to, since I have not been able to put it in the fuel slot for both yummy value or fuel value slots?

Ah of course, thank you! Just unlocked them today. That makes sense although it is a little annoying I can't just burn them to keep the belts moving.
