I just downloaded the Setup_Factorio_2.0.14.exe.zip from factorio.com. I unzipped it, then tried to run the installer. It does not give me any choice for install location. When I click on 'Install' (Step 3), I get 'The drive or UNC share you selected does not exist or is not accessible. Please select another.' I'm not a windows person. WTH is UNC share? This is my own computer, in my own house; nothing shared or networked.
Why doesn't the installer let me choose the location I want to install?
Official 2.0.14 installer does not let me choose location
Re: Official 2.0.14 installer does not let me choose location
When you double click on the exe, you should get :
1) A Windows question asking if you allow Setup_Factorio_2.0.14.exe to modify stuff on your Computer. You should accept.
2) You get to choose the installer language. Choose in the dropdown, and "OK".
3) You are proposed a path where Factorio should be installed. This is the place where you select where you want it. That's the place you haven't provided a valid place on your hard drive.
4) Only Full installation choice here
5) Choice of the folder in the start menu you want your Factorio stuff, you should probably let Factorio.
6) Do you want shortcuts ? check the ones you want, uncheck those you don't want.
7) Recap window, Click on Install if you're happy with your settings.
