[2.0.14] Crash "bad_alloc" on linux while looking at displays on space platform

Post by GtDRZ »

Just had my first ever crash in factorio, and i thought i'd make a report.

*edit*
after looking at the 2.0.15 release notes, i do spot a fix for a crash related to displays and switching surfaces - if it's the same issue, sorry for the duplicate report and thanks for fixing it (in experimental) already. However i'm leaving the report up in case it's a different crash.

What did you do?
started the game and spent a moment looking at my space station and displays to start designing it

What happened?
game crashed

What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
Game doesn't crash

Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
Happened for the first time just now

Things i've done recently:
- Update to 2.0.14
- Changed "preferred video driver" to Wayland

I've attached the log file, but no save yet - if that's needed i can upload it, but it seems to be bigger than 30mb.
factorio-current.log

I've given the log a quick read and it does mention the display panels, but i have no idea if it's really related.
If there's known crashes on wayland please let me know and i'll switch back. otherwise i hope the report can be useful.

Thanks for the report. This is a duplicate of 119071 and is fixed in the latest experimental version.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
