I used a splitter to filter the line between coal and solid fuel. I then decided to remove the filter. I right clicked on the coal and removed the filter. Rather the the splitter go back to standard behaviour it proceeded to output everything onto the left hand side.

Everything is coming out the left output because the splitter is set to priority left mode. You can see the yellow Alt arrow on the side it is preferring. Once the left output backs up, it will start ouputting items on the right output as well.
Setting a filter item also sets the priority to left or right. Clearing the filter item does not clear the priority. You have to clear the filter item and also set the priority slider back to center to get "normal" behavior again.
Likely no bug here.
