What i did:
I placed a Tank on Nauvis, loaded it's vehicle grid with modules, picked it up and sent it to Fulgora.
What happend:
On placement on Fulgora, via construction Bots, the Tank's vehicle grid was empty. The modules neither on Nauvis, the Ship or Fulgora.
What i expected:
The modules to survive the trip and be still inside the tank.
As picking up and placing a Tank back, saves and restores the Grid without issues.
How to reproduce:
Place Tank, fill Vehicle Grid with modules. Pick it up, double check for modules inside Tanks tooltip.
Send to other planet, arrives in Cargo landing pad. (Modules still visible in tooltip of tank at this point)
Place ghost of tank in mapview, let bots place Tank and check the vehicle grid of the newly placed Tank.
The modules are now gone from the Tank. The Cargo landing pad does not have them too.
Sidenote:
I found out that when placing the tanks ghost from a personal roboport in mapview, the modules end up in the Players inventory and the tank is empty.
When placing the ghost in normal view the modules are still inside the tank after being placed by bots.
[2.0.14] [Space Age] Vehicle Grid content lost during bot placement
Re: [2.0.14] [Space Age] Vehicle Grid content lost during bot placement
Thanks for the report however I am unable to reproduce this. When I have the robots build the vehicle, they build it, and then robots come and remove the equipment that doesn't match the original ghost place request.
Can you please provide a save file that when the robots build the vehicle the equipment vanishes?

Sure, here you go.
Switch to Fulgora per Mapview and in the Cargo Landing Pad is a rare tank with Solarpanels in its Vehicle grid for the test.
So just place a rare tank to be constructed. I attached a short clip of me placing it too.
Edit: the other vehicle modules in the Cargo pad came with the delivery of the test tank as replacement for the first set that got lost.
Forgot i had them ordered already.

Thanks for the report. In the video you can see the robot that builds the tank takes the equipment away after it is built and puts it in the storage chest. This is because the tank you've placed with the ghost cursor does not have any configured equipment and so once built, it matches the built entity to the ghost and orders removal of the equipment. The robot then does that, and puts it into storage.

I must have missed that, you're right.
Sorry for the false report then.

Re: [2.0.14] [Space Age] Vehicle Grid content lost during bot placement
Is there an way to have the robots place the specific vehicle? Like with its color, and modules in its grid.
Re: [2.0.14] [Space Age] Vehicle Grid content lost during bot placement
Not specifically, but if you make a blueprint of a vehicle with equipment, when built, it will attempt to put that equipment into the vehicle. If it already has it when built, it will just stay in it.

I encountered this issue too, and thought all the items in my grid were gone. Took me a little to see what happened, and more of an annoyance to have to rebuild the grid.
I recommend, when placing an item, if the grid is empty, instead of emptying the grid, leave the grid in place as is. Worst case scenario, it's a few extra clicks to empty the grid, otherwise you're having to try to piece through and spend a few minutes trying to rebuild the grid.
