Maximum heat value for burnable item/fluid

Post by protocol_1903 »

I would be interested in adding a "maximum heat" property to burnable items and fluids, so that buildings like the nuclear reactor can get more powerful and more efficient with better fuel. This would benefit greatly from the quality mechanic, where higher quality items can burn at a higher temperature.

I could see this being used to create a lot more progression where new burnables are required to reach the minimum temperature of machines. In addition, it would change how efficient different fuel sources are, dependent on their maximum fuel value. Using something that can burn at 2000 C isn't very good in something that has a maximum temperature of 250 C.

In addition, I would like the maximum temperature value of entities like nuclear reactors and heat pipes to be exposed to quality. This would allow for higher quality reactor and turbine setups to be more efficient and have a higher power buffer than their low quality counterparts. As well as providing more methods of progression for mods.
