[2.0.14] change username/user associated with save file

hello, due to the new galaxy of fame feature, I wanted to change my username associated with my active game file. Let's say I want to go from "player1" to "player2" because player1 is not the name I usually go by online. I would like to change the name associated with my Space Age save, and I am not sure I'm doing so correctly.

I tried updating my factorio login to "player2", but when I would open the save file in singleplayer mode, however I would still be logged in as "player1". I opened up the save file in multiplayer mode, and then I was logged in thereafter in singleplayer as "player2" -- but I think the game still does not associate my as the "primary player" -- there is always text that says "player2 has started mech suit research" which seems like a multiplayer feature.

So questions:
1. Does the galaxy of fame put the name of the factorio account, or the primary player of the save file, or the player who actually finished the game as the name by the galaxy?
2. Is player2 the primary player of this account now?
3. If not, can I make it so?
