[2.0.14] crash on saving map, crashes on starting factorio now

After saving the map, my game crashed.

I tried to look at the save I have afterward, but it crashed during startup.

trying to start factorio again, it crashed again:

I now let steam verify the integrity of the game files.
It said that "1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired."

I renamed my "blueprint-storage-2.dat" and appended ".bak" to make it not visible to factorio.

Starting factorio now works again.
Loading the attached save works, it plays fine, and I can save it as another copy.

I restored the "blueprint-storage-2.dat", started factorio, loaded the appended save, saved it to another file, and exited, no crash.

I think there is something wrong with your machine. If you can reliably reproduce a crash, as in: Do X -> Crash very single time, let us know.

That is my fear too.

I have changed my cpu from an AMD 3800XT to a 5700X3D after playing 2.0, and changed my os from ubuntu to debian a while back this summer. So it could be my ram, storage, mobo or power supply (?). idk.

Check out 114778 on how to proceed, but intermittent issues are hard to pin down.
