Toggle Space Age Content on/off Without Disabling Space Age Features

Apologies if this has already been answered, I couldn’t see it in this forum or the 2.0 porting guide.

If I want to add Spoilage to a mod, I believe it has to depend on Space Age. What is the correct way of allowing an option for a vanilla-like experience to a mod that includes Spoilage, while still allowing for players to turn Space Age content on if they want? Is there a better way than simply building two versions of the mod?
