1. I clicked the "Travel to Space Platform" button in the rocket silo GUI, selected the platform, and rode a rocket from Vulcanus' surface to an orbital platform. The rocket silo I used is a short distance South from some inserters with a ">= normal quality" item filter.
2. As the planet's surface faded to the stars of space, I could see white dots which were arranged oddly and moved very differently than the stars. On closer inspection (zooming in) I saw that the dots were the ">= normal" icon which appears on top of an item icon of an item filter when in alt mode. The item icons themselves were not visible.
3. I expected those icons to fade away the exact same way everything else on the planet's surface fades away as you ride a rocket away from it.
4. It happens every time I leave a planet near inserters with a ">= normal" quality filter, but I have not tested other quality settings in the filter. I have noticed it when leaving Nauvis and Vulcanus. I haven't noticed it when leaving Fulgora, and haven't yet travelled to Gleba or Aquilo. I haven't noticed it when leaving a space platform for a planet's surface. By "haven't noticed" I don't mean that it doesn't happen, I mean that I wasn't paying attention for it when performing those actions.
