Inserter does not pick up copper ore for stone furnace

Created the row of furnaces with inserters, added 50 coal to furnaces before adding electricity, now the inserter will not pick up copper ore. Need to manually remove coal from furnaces, then the inserter starts working.

That inserter has coal in its hand, and the furnace is full with coal already.
(Could/should this be fixed with the new to 2.0 trash slots ??)

Thanks for the report. I looked into this and it seems this behavior has existed for quite some time. That, combined with the complexities of inserters makes me not want to try to change it at this time.

You shouldn't need to manually put fuel into furnaces if the inserter can do it so the simple solution here is to "just don't do that"

If you're dumping coal from your inventory you can use ctrl + right click to dump half stacks instead of full ones and avoid this

Ok, I put in 50 into each because I had an inventory full of coal.
