[kovarex] Selecting new contents with blueprint grid changes coordinates (MR)

When I have a blueprint and set the grid coordinates, then select new contents that don't change the dimensions I have to modify the coordinates.

I have to change X to something else, save, set it back to the previous value.
Y gets all messed up and I have to figure that one out again.

Here's my rail blueprint, you can reproduce the problem by adding any ghosted item in the middle then reselect contents. The updated blueprint will not line up to previous coordinates even though the values are the same.

Related problem, possibly the same, version 2.0.11, no space age. (Edit: I cannot replicate the issue with OP's blueprint though (when importing it into the base game without SA).)

When I select new contents for a rail blueprint with snapping to odd grid positions, all the entities shift by 1, creating a broken blueprint with the rails now on even grid positions.

Steps to reproduce:
  1. Import the following rail blueprint (single piece of rail):
  2. Place the blueprint on the ground.
  3. Open it, and click "select new contents".
  4. Reselect the blueprint that was placed on the ground.
  5. The entities in the blueprint are now shifted in both x and y by 1.
  6. Placing the new blueprint will correct the rails, but not the signals.
Performing these steps for the given blueprint produces the following blueprint.


Performing the same steps for the following blueprint with signals

will produce a blueprint, that when placed will have signals, roboport and power poles overlapping with rails, while this is not visible in the blueprint editor. So rails are shifted one tile further in x and y when trying to place the blueprint, but other items are not.

Note that the original and new contents of the blueprint need not be the same for this shift to happen, it first happened to me when I wanted to add power poles to a blueprint that had the signals and rails already.

A workaround to still get the correct blueprint is to create a new blueprint with the desired contents.
Have you considered using flow routers instead of balancers?

Hello, I made a fix for all the cases, and apparently it also covers the two examples in this thread.
The first one is little bit impractically big to be included in our automated tests, but the minimal case from Yodo was perfect addition, so this shouldn't randomly happen again.
