[2.0.10] Space platform deletion
[2.0.10] Space platform deletion
Hi,
the delete space platform button is directly next to the close window button, this has lead to a loss of progress of ~2 hours of gameplay because humans do mistakes.
This should be addressed since this has no benefits just disadvantages and would help many ppl if this gets adjusted early while we discover this new features.
(sry for placing this as bug report but I don't know where to address it properly because it is a critical UX issue)
Thank you very much.

How does this work? The player hasn't seen a option directly and has than rage quitted the game than
Re: [2.0.10] Space platform deletion
Ah ok, thank you .. sadly that was not directly clear to find, would it be a option to make a confirm deletion dialog were the player has to hold a button oder type the name of the station to avoid this to begin with?
Re: [2.0.10] Space platform deletion
For me this option don't show up, so I guess it only shows up for the player which has deleted the space platform?

We can consider a tip and trick which will activate when you delete a platform.
Re: [2.0.10] Space platform deletion
This would at least help beginners; but since we all have 600+ hours of playtime we have them disabled so this would be to indirect to have a effect in our case.
(i have them now active again for space age ... good reminder )

Re: [2.0.10] Space platform deletion
If you have them disabled, you have to live with the consequences, almost all of the veterans would learn something from tips and tricks I bet.
Re: [2.0.10] Space platform deletion
Fair point If it is easier to do or fit your vision better ... the tipp&tricks thing would do ... We have seen how stressful this click can be and it would be cool to make it less stressful for the majority of players
Update:
The player is back online, he says the button is not there, do this feature has a timer or something? If yes this could be extended as well to be more multiplayer friendly where the server continues to run

Re: [2.0.10] Space platform deletion
I really think this should be a confirmation or the button be moved -- I don't see the use case of creating and destroying platforms regularly, though I'm sure someone would. I had a friend on my dedicated server accidentally delete a space platform, twice. Both times they accidentally clicked it because they were trying to click the X to leave the menu and no one, me included, realized there was a undelete button. A tips and tricks pop-up is probably fine (especially to call out the undelete button)... but I believe a better solution would be to make sure it's never the case where you could just click it completely accidentally. Loving the dlc a lot so far, this was really my only pain point so far that I've experienced where it didn't feel right.

Yes, there is a time limit. Not exactly sure how long, I think I've heard 10 minutes.
Greetings, Nova.

Re: [2.0.10] Space platform deletion
I was quite interested in this topic because it had a such big impact on the mood of the given player(s)
https://ux.stackexchange.com/questions/ ... he-delete
and many other sources sums up to:
- Revert is the best way if this button is regular clicked (which is not the case for delete space platform)
- If revert is used it should be presented directly where the delete action append (not the case since it appears in the map window and is quite hard to find if you don't know this feature yet)
- If the button is used quite rarely a confirmation dialog should be added if the action has a big impact (this is the case from player perspective)
- UX should be designed in a away to support user intend .... (which is close window and not delete all my work )
I don't want to say how to fix this; but this sums up my feelings about this quite well and it might helps the discussion to progess
