[posila] [2.0.8] Visual Bug - Black lines in space

Post by Just_DJ »

Hi there,

After loading into space, I've noticed that the 'Space Dust' graphic setting causes various black lines to form, which seem to be of 3 catagories:
  • Dust Grid - a grid which moves with the space dust graphic
  • Stationary Grid - stationary reletive to the world grid
  • Unattached Lines - Not exactly sure what its linked to but i belive they are attached to space debris
I am using AMD(7800 XTX) and have tried reseting shader cache, made sure texture optimisation is set to standard, and re-installed twice. If anyone has encountered this, please let me know how you have delt with it.

I've attached a screenshot and demonstation video.

Thank you.

Thanks for the report.
I couldn't reproduce it, but I don't have AMD 7800 XTX to try it on.
Can you please post your log - factorio-current.log?

I also encounter this problem regulary with my RTX2080. Sometimes the lines are extremely visible, sometimes they are invisible.

I ran into this issue as well on an RTX 4090

I fixed the problem by changing my driver settings in my graphics card to no longer force 16x Anisotropic filtering.

Check to see if you are forcing it for Factorio and change the setting to application-controlled or something equivalent for AMD cards

This seems to have worked for me, thanks!
