Behavior found and steps to reproduce:
1. Placed a yellow underground belt section (two items, entry & exit)
2. Placed yellow belts following the underground exit piece
3. With red underground belt in hand, clicked on yellow underground belt entrance piece to upgrade underground belt to red
4. Red underground belt piece in hand is now reversed 180 degrees from original direction
5. Switch to red belts to continue upgrading the next section of yellow surface belts
6. Red belt in hand is also still reversed, player must rotate twice to continue upgrading in the original direction
Expected behavior:
-Upgrading an underground belt section (which has entry and exit) should leave the rotation of the item in hand unchanged (same direction as before upgrade)
-Example: Yellow underground belt is built which moves items left to right (facing East). Player has stack of red underground belt in hand rotated to face East. Player clicks on yellow underground belt entry to upgrade it to red. The red underground belts in players hand should still face East.
-I am fairly certain that the behavior in the example above is how the game functioned previous to 2.0
-The behavior found in 2.0 makes it difficult to upgrade a long line with many underground belts, as the player must rotate belt pieces 180 degrees after each underground belt.
Initial setup of yellow belts to be upgraded:
Upgrading yellow underground belt to yellow:
Switching to red belts in hand to continue upgrading yellow belt line. Belts in hand are now facing West and must be rotated 180 degrees:

Re: [2.0.8] Upgrading underground belts reverses the direction of item in hand
Oh thanks you are correct, this post is reporting the same issue. My searches didn't find it because we use different names for the items in question.
