Building a new rail line can be tedious: long straights are OK, but corners are fiddly, especially when you have to keep switching between straight and curved rails and rotating each rail to join up with the previous one.
Over 99% of the time, when you place a rail you want it to connect to the rail you just placed.
On Rollercoaster Tycoon, each rail is automatically appended to the current one and you choose whether to go straight ahead, turn left, turn right, slope up or slope down. This makes it easier to build a track, even though there are more different rail types to choose from.
Could there be a "rail building mode" which works in this way?
Make rail placing work like Rollercoaster Tycoon
