[posila] Failed loading blueprint storage

Post by Iggybot6 »

I am currently experiencing a problem preventing me from playing the game after updating to Space age.

Currently using a brand new install of factorio after deleting an reinstalling the game to a different drive. I launch and run the game through steam and normally have cloud saves enabled.

whenever i try to load a map or launch a new game from the map editor I get this notice
10-21-2024, 08-28-04.png
10-21-2024, 08-28-04.png (21.38 KiB) Viewed 1792 times
when confirm is clicked, i then get this notice
10-21-2024, 08-28-58.png
10-21-2024, 08-28-58.png (77.8 KiB) Viewed 1792 times

and get booted back to the previous screen

I have tried to resolve this by disabling space age, restarting my computer, and verifying file integrity on steam with no luck.

Thanks for the report.
We'll fix it for the next release.

Can you also zip and post here blueprint-storage.dat from AppData\Roamin\Factorio, please?

In the meantime, you can workaround the copy_file error by going to Settings -> Other and uncheck "Enable blueprint library Cloud Sync" deleting the blueprint-storage.dat (sorry, the workaround with disabling Cloud Sync doesn't actually work), but your blueprint library will get wiped.

Not being able to play is fix for 2.0.8.

If you provide the blueprint-storage.dat we'll also look into why it is failing to load in the first place.

I have a very similar issue, I'm also unable to launch my Space age game.
When I try to launch game from map generator, I get a notice about failing to copy blueprint-storage-2.dat and this file seems to be entirely missing in my folder.

Ooooh, the blueprint storage is from version 0.18, I see. Thank you for sharing it. Loading anything pre-1.1 is not supported anymore, is that is correct that it doesn't load.

Release with a fix for it blocking you from getting into the game will be out in couple of hours (you'll need to opt into experimental branch to get it ASAP), but since the file won't load anyway, you may as well just delete it (blueprint-storage.dat from your screenshot)

(The problem is that it fails to load blueprint-storage.dat and tries to back it up, so in case it is due to bug, the data don't get lost, but it tries to back up wrong file - blueprint-storage-2.dat, which doesn't exist, which causes the error)
