There is no info, but I doubt the expansion will ever run on that hardware.

Why? The base game runs fine on the Nintendo Switch and the required specs for Space Age are unchanged.

Base Factorio needs 4GB RAM and 512MB VRAM on PC. SA have declared 8GB RAM & 1GB VRAM requirement, for starts...

As of Switch port working fine in particular...

"Performance

One of the first questions you might ask is how does the game perform. We worked on many optimizations to make sure the game performs as well as possible. You should expect 30-60 FPS (both in TV mode and handheld mode). As for UPS, the average player should be able to go through all of the content and launch a rocket, while staying at 60 UPS. But don't expect to be able to build mega-bases without UPS starting to drop, sometimes significantly."

The reason, AFAIK, there are no mods on the Switch version is “hardware limitations”. I suspect that this would be the same thing keeping the expansion off the handheld.

For that matter, remember that there were no official plans to bring the game to any console; they intended to keep it to PC (and mac?). Bringing it to the Switch was one dev’s off-the-clock project. It may very well take another off-the-clock project to get the expansion ported over to Switch.

Personally, I think the game would run a lot better on a more powerful, if stationary, console; I think the game would do better on PS5/Xbox. It wont come to either (again, no stated plans to port the game to anything) but either one would run the game far better than the Switch can.

2.0 on the Switch is likely but not very soon, Space Age is very unlikely
