[boskid][2.0.6] Spidertrons not capable of killing demolisher with regular rockets

Post by psznm »

I sent spidertrons filled with rockets to kill small demolisher. They got him to around 1% in about two seconds and then switched to body which has 99% resistance. Enough to out-regen pretty much anything I would send at it.

This is targetting issue, but simple fix might be to have first non-head segment have same resistances as the head.

Given the high regen this feels like a perfect use case for EntityWithHealthPrototype::overkill_fraction being set to value significantly larger than 0.05, but someone will have to compute the value that guarantees a success.

Maybe set the EntityWithHealthPrototype::overkill_fraction to infinity for demolisher? I can see it matter alot for biters and pentapods where it could cause alot of overkills, but for demolishers I don't really care if I waste a few rounds when killing it.

Thanks for the report. For 2.0.7 release i changed overkill_fraction from 0.05 up to 0.2 which in my testing appeared to be enough (spiders shooting rockets were not retargeting to shoot first segment behind the head allowing head to regenerate).
