[1.1.110] Mouse wheel "side clicks" are not registered in setting

Post by bm13kk »

Hello!

MacOS 14, m3, the game is the latest version (1.1.110), Logitech mouse, Ghub turn off.

First little explanation. The middle wheel of my mouse can "bend" to the left and right example, in Windows, it is used for vertical scrolling. When I open in-game controls setting - I try to assign this click to rotate but "wheel up" or "wheel down" is registered.

In phase 2 I did install Ghub - Logitech software to control mice and more. And use onboard mouse memory to set up settings and turn Ghub off, it has other bugs as well. Ghub shows, that "wheel side click" is a system call (like left mouse button and right). As an additional argument - mouse buttons 4 and 5 are side buttons, not related to the wheel. And mouse buttons 4 and 5 - are correctly set up in the game as "Q" and "E" by default.

So, how can I use side wheel clicks? Is this a common problem?

PS, the same problem was at least a year ago. So I am not sure, that the game and macos versions are relevant.

PSS will try to find win11 and test this mouse there as well

As far as I know, this is called the mouse tilt wheel functionality. In Windows, I use the software that comes with my mouse (or the generic X-Mouse-Button-Control app) to map the two tilt wheel keys to some Factorio-specific hotkey, for example to Q for the pipette tool. As far as I remember, Factorio itself doesn't recognize the tilt wheel directly.
