Hi.
I would like to see more options for configering smart inserters.
Such as to be able to set the logics betwees red and green wire condition.
Maybe like this.
"Work when"
" Red wire condition" (Wood) < 100
(or)
"Green wire condition" (Coal) < 100
The (or) schould be selectable between (or) and (and)
What would realy be nice would be to be able to add more Red and Green Conditions.
Like this.
"Work when"
" Red wire condition" (Wood) < 100
(and)
"Red wire condition" (Coal) < 100
(or)
"Red wire Condition" (Solid Fuel) < 20
More options for Smart Inserter

Re: More options for Smart Inserter
Just an FYI, all conditions are currently OR'd together.
But yes, having a bit more flexibility in the smart inserter interface would be nice.
I wouldn't take it farther than the above suggestion though.
Should go: Selecting a signal source to use*, selecting a Boolean (AND,OR,XOR) to use*, picking an item, setting the count.
*default behavior should be as it is now to avoid problems with backwards compatibility.

Re: More options for Smart Inserter
Thanks for that info.
Havent worked that out yet.
What just kame to my mind was, it would also work great with the filter option in smart chests someone else suggested here.
What i am trying to do is feed an assembing machine with up to 4 Ingedients having only 1 smart Inserter loading a smart chest.
Then having multiple assembling machines of that type and feeding the entire block only with the raw materials again with a smart inserter.
I have tried this with advanced circiuts having 7 machines producing advanced Circiuts and 1 producing copper cable. Feeding the hole thing only with Copper plates, plastik bar and electronic circiuts all on the one belt looping around.
it does work but only if you use a smart chest for every machine and ingredient. Thats 22 chests plus 22 smart inserters for that setup. I´d like to break that down to 8.

This switches the smart inserter on/off. It will work only if all set conditions are true; see down.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Re: More options for Smart Inserter
Well, I'll stand corrected, but seems it's a semi-recent change.
After my last serious investigation of them to be certain.
