[0.11.8] Game does not start

Factorio is running in processes, and is active in the task bar, but the game does not begin. Just leaves me sitting on desktop.

Windows 7
intel i7
16 Gb ram
nvidia 580 x2

Any help would be appreciated.

Windows key + d totally worked. The application was running, but was just hidden.
