Is there any way to draw or display region on minimap?

I want to display a region in my mod, something like pollution in game but without different opacity. Is there any documentation where I can find this?
Would be even better if show me a mod that does it :)
I'm very new to factorio modding, thank you for any information!

Sadly not possible :(
The only things mods can add to the minimap is map tags
