water should consume pollution

Post by ASA »

oceanic plankton in water generates most of the oxygen in the world. algea, sea plants and some bacteria can consume vast amounts of co2. yet in the game there is absolutely zero pollution consumption in water tiles. that doesn't make sense.

and the pollution consumption should increase as water goes green since more co2 is just more food for the algea. in fact, the reason water turns green is algea growth.

as a balancing mechanic, grass could turn to desert as pollution increases. trees could burn due to wildfires(this may be too much on cpu, the current trees dying is actually enough) and water tiles may shrink maybe? like that water as a resource mod.

there could be deep water pumps as a new tech (around purple science maybe) so that game doesn't become unplayable when water withdraws.

Water does absorb pollution.

Yes water turns green as it absorbs pollution.
