How do I reserach

Help me please,

I've just started a play through on Bobs and Angels but i cant seem to generate any electricity (to start research).

I didn't spawn with a boiler and steam engine. I cant craft them.

The research tree is telling me i need to research steam to get the boiler and engine (10 red science packs) but i cant research without electricity.

What obvious thing am I missing????

If you're in the situation where you're starting without the ability to make electricity, and need to research it, then there should be a burner powered lab.

of course, if you're running Angels, then that takes over, so my advice might not be helpful.
