Long handed filter inserter

Fast inserters have a filter upgrades.
Stack inserters have a filter upgrade.
The long-handed inserter is useful even in the endgame, but it does not have a filter upgrade.

I must say: I found me only once in the situation, that I needed that. Ok, I'm not the earth-axis.
So I ask for what this is needed. And is this really needed?

That is one of the constraints you have to work around, Factorio is about solving these problems.

I still can't see why this would ever be necessary in the base game. If you're playing mods then there are other mods to include advanced inserters including filter long handles I'm sure.

But true, I didn't notice he's a veteran.

Try Bob's Inserter mod. I'm not doing this to blatantly advertise, but my inserters mod offers a light weight mod to configure any placed inserters, and can easily turn a fast, or filter inserter into long handed.

Alternate functionality, my Logistics mod (Which adds a butt load of other things too) adds a pre-place GUI so you can tick a checkbox to say you want a long handed inserter before placing anything.

[Koub] Moving this to outdated. The devs have stated long ago that they didn't intend to add more inserter types. Maybe they'll change their mind some time in the future, but as of now, this request has been voluntarily not implemented.
