demo broken?

ive been thinking about getting factorio, and i decided to try the demo on steam and see if my computer can handle it, i have not a very good computer but i thought it could handle it and keep in mind i don't own the game currently, but anyways i tried to start the demo on steam and it got to about 30% loading and then froze and crashed, i tried restarting it and it said an unexpected error has occurred and a crash log had been generated in factorio-current.log but i checked and that folder didn't exist, the demo version is 1.1.4.9 and i don't want to buy a game that i cant play, and i don't know what to do.

ive looked in %appdata%/Factorio but the only folder in there is saves and it only has a VDF file called steam_autocloud

Did you press on "Yes" in the window in your screenshot or did you try to path there manually?

whenever i press yes on the error window, it takes me to a file explorer page that freezes and closes after about 5 seconds, ive tried to path there manually too and i cant find it

Try restarting your system, if it still crashes, try the Yes button again. You are getting graphics output from the game so it is way past the point of it starting to write the log file.

i restarted and it still gets the error and i pressed yes and the file explorer page still freezes and closes itself

i downloaded the demo and it ran until it got to 30% loading, it seems to crash when it says cropping bitmaps, the error message popped up again but i pressed yes and it opened file explorer and the log file is here, here's the pastebin link https://pastebin.com/TY8bW7GY
