Mining robot

Post by HarkBack »

Hello. I think it would be good have the Mining robots. Ground. These robots are mined ore in a specified region and bear to the chest. Use coal as fuel. May fill self coal.

Remembers me to many strategy games, first Dune, second Command&Conquer, third Warcraft ....
But it makes sense, when you
a) remove the cole-driven miner (because you never use them in the later game)
b) limit the number of the "robots" to about 10-100 (you can control 10 "yourself" or produce up to 10 sub-control-modules)

How they work:
- There is the question, if they could be programmed or not.
- If they aren't programmed, they collect any ressource (cole, iron, copper...).
- If, they should also collect items on the ground or belts.

Collect-Cycle:
- Go to the next ressource-field and pick it up.
- Go to the next empty chest and put it in.
- Go back, from where you came. Prevents stupid things.
- If the next ressource is too far away: Stop.

Energy-Cycle:
- Before they go back or search for ressources, they look, if energy is low.
- If they don't have enough, they will work very slow but don't stop totally
- They go to the next cole item or cole in a chest or cole-ressource they find and refill themselfes
- Repeat where stopped

Axe-Cycle:
If they need an axe, they lock for a steel or iron-axe (chest), if not found they will do it without axe. :)
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.
