[Request] higher contrast pollution colour on map
I am red/green colour blind and it's terrible hard to see the faint red overlay of pollution at the outer edges, I can see the strong red pollution close to my base, but I always have to squint and stuff around to get an idea of how far out my pollution is going. Can we change the colour easily, in a lua/config file? Can someone make a simple higher contrast/different colour for pollution overlay on the minimap/main map screen?

If you are on the Mac, you can press Cmd+Ctrl+Alt+8 to invert colors.
Attach your blueprints to forum posts with Foreman or Blueprint string.

In Factorio/data/core/graphics/ there's an image named pollution-visualization.png. You can't repace it with a mod (I think) but you can simply overwrite it with something more visible to you. Just be aware that you will need to do it again whenever Factorio updates.

Or build a mod that changes it, I believe that the devs said that non gameplay mods won't be checked for the crc

Thanks guys, i've found it and changed the PNG file to a darkish blue/purple transparency file now. Shall see what it looks like, maybe i'll post a screenshot if you want!

I used it myself, to make the pollution overlay just to a little dot in the middle of each chunk, so I can see my base on the minimap, even when on high pollution.

I am sorry to say that this is still a problem. I have no color vision difficulties but the pollution cloud is so faint that it is very hard to see. Some option to make it more visible would be very desirable.
Maybe it would be possible - in addition to the faint red color used now - to show a brighter line at the perimeter of each pollution level (similar to how a topographic map shows altitude).

If it's faint, there isn't much pollution. I sometimes have the exact opposite problem, that I can't even see my base properly with the massive red glare, so I turn the pollution display off, then forget there is any pollution and wonder why I'm getting attacked so much.zOldBulldog wrote:I am sorry to say that this is still a problem.
