I'm trying to make an exchange station for oil to reduce congestion in my base. So one train pumps all of it's oil to another train.
But I think I've made an error. I assumed pumps can both unload and load at the same time, but after some trying i think I am wrong.
Tested with both trains on automatic and waiting at the stations, but the pumps didn't work. Is there some way to make them work, or should i just scrap this design. Is simultaneous load-unload even possible with the pump?
Thanks in advance
Is it possible to use a pump to unload and load simultaneously?

You need 2 pumps in the same line for your design to function, one would unload the train, the other one load the next train. 1 pump cannot do both from what i've tested

I had the same issue, can confirm it takes two pumps - one pump can only connect to one train. If you look at the visualization when a train pulls in, you can see which pump it has connected to.
My own personal Factorio super-power - running out of power.

first reply is correct, 2 pumps in series are required for unload-load operation.
I have modified my design accordingly.
Thank you
