if you look, you can see the boundary square of the steam gas through the glass,
it should be like extended a 3.5 more pixels both to the top and bottom.

note: this fluid and pipe is both unmodded

Actually, the "glass" on the pipe is more rhombus shaped while the animation is rectangular. So it's less of "extending" the animation as it is reshaping it.
