Hello everyone. I am playing Factorio on a capable gaming laptop. The game runs extremely well, and without problem. However, I have an issue that occurs only when I am playing with my computer connected to a TV via HDMI. When I alt-tab out of the game then back in, my fps drops to 30 every single time...and it stays there. There are only two things that I have found to "help."
#1: I can run the game not in fullscreen mode, but I think it looks way better in fullscreen.
#2: I can exit the game completely after the fps drops, then restart the game to get back the 60 fps.
Here are some general specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 4800H 2.9 GHz
16 GB RAM
GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
Like I said, this only happens when playing on a TV through HDMI. Any help would be appreciated, as alt-tabbing out and in is a pretty regular necessity. Thanks in advance.

Re: Alt-Tab and HDMI (fps issue)
The fact it's fine out of full screen makes me wonder if it's a VSync issue. Do you have that turned on in the options? You might try toggling it to see if it makes a difference. I've seen quite a few problems over the years of TVs not reporting the right screen information to PCs causing weird issues like this.

Re: Alt-Tab and HDMI (fps issue)
I will try this tomorrow (turning off vsync) when I am back to playing on the big TV. Thanks for the tip. I shall report back tomorrow.

Re: Alt-Tab and HDMI (fps issue)
Thank you so much for the tip. That was it...vsync. Now that it's off I can tab out and in freely. Thanks again.
