[1.1.42] Multiplayer join very slow, and never completes

Hi,

We've periodically had this problem on multiple games and versions.
Multiplayer join goes very slow. It starts with a very small size for the server map, and then it keeps on downloading and never completes.

Some previous forum posts indicate this can happen with a fast connection. We have a google nest wifi. It's possible it is attempting to multiplex the connection so not every packet is linearly transmitted? (Would a packet be re-transmitted for the map if it were received out of order?)
