Use Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller on Mac OS

I am running macOS Big Sur v. 11.5.2 and have a compatible XBOX Elite Series 2 controller. How can I get this controller to work with factorio?

I'm sorry but there is Macbook, xbox controller and factorio in same sentence. This gives a syntax error. Help not possible

If you have steam you could make your own controller mapping with big picture mode I believe.

Thank you, I downloaded directly from Factorio. I suppose that would mean I’d have to purchase again through steam. Thanks for the tip.

pretty sure you can set it up to launch through steam without repurchasing, this should also allow the controller mapping to apply.

I don't know much about MacOS, but on Windows there are lots of free controller remapping tools. Steam is only one option.
