Alt-F4 #43 - The DyWorld Saga

In issue #43 of Alt-F4, mod-maker extraordinaire Dysoch talks about his history of modding (which started all the way back in Factorio 0.7!), giving a bit of an overview of how his mods evolved over time. Then, he goes into his latest and greatest project that’s due for release very soon. It’s a big overhaul mod that’s focused on an overarching story with the goal to be more immersive than previous big mods. More on the details below!

To F-Mod: the history of that mod is deleted.

Due to the name “f-mod” it’s complicated to search for it (phpbb search is not the best). So I found some articles, which lights things a bit up:
Aug 2013 viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1180
Sep 2014 viewtopic.php?f=190&t=5669 (includes a picture)
Feb 2015 viewtopic.php?f=55&t=8783 (ficolas gave the mod away for Kayamor, which continued the mod about 1 year (?) or so, all links are deleted)

If you use Qwant or Google you can use a site search and double quotes to find it. Search for:

I also found those pages in my digging, but thank you for looking anyway! But if even you couldn't find anything then it is truley lost. I was really curious what a major overhaul mod looked like in those days, or how detailed the forum page would be, and even load up an ancient version of Factorio and see what it does. It was likely very small compared to today's major overhauls, but as far as I understand it was one of the first. Maybe the first?

When you look at the last mods page viewforum.php?f=190&start=1875
It’s currently a radar mod viewtopic.php?f=190&t=156 from feb 18th 2013. The f-mod was some months later.

I meant first overhaul mod, not the first mod itself. But that's also quite cool that we can see the first actual mod!

Well, not exactly; you didn't use double-quotes around the mod name.
