[1.1.35] Crash loading sea block pack mod

Post by pawciuq2 »

When loading factorio with sea block pack mode enabled I see prompt:
"Nie udało się załadować modyfikacji: Difficulty normal: Cycle in technology tree detected.
steel-processing
-> basic-chemistry-2
-> water-treatment-2
-> slag-processing-1
-> steel-processing".
There are three buttons under this prompt: turn off all mods, reset, quit.
I'm using Factorio 1.1.35 (build 58756, win64), sea block pack 1.1.2

1) This subforum is for bug reports for the game, not for mods.

2) You need to grab the mod pack zip file from the forum thread and unzip the contents to your mod folder. DO NOT update any mods. Newer versions will break it as it's not setup to deal with those changes. This specific issue is from using newer versions of some of Angel's mods, IIRC.

The problem also stems from the fact, that modpacks can't define fixed dependencies.

As soon as a containing mod updates and gets incompatible (which happens often in case of big modpacks), the installing of a modpack mod from ingame manager fails. You have to go via modportal to install specific mod versions (or use a zip file)

The other possibility is to use a savegame which references all desired mods and use the sync mods function. But IIRC, it also only installs the latest versions and not the version referenced in savegame.

That's why I created this suggestion:
